Communications Handbook Published
Washington, DC ––The Association of Cable Communicators (ACC) announced today that it has published the ACC Communications Handbook. This 130 page book is divided into 10 chapters covering topics that both beginners and seasoned communications executives will find helpful in their day-to-day work. All current ACC members will receive a free copy of the $200 book (list price). Members may purchase additional copies at a substantial discount. The initial distribution of the book will occur at FORUM 2008. Members unable to attend the conference will be mailed copies within the next two weeks.
"ACC is the only organization devoted to the professional develop needs of cable communicators, I'm extremely pleased to have published what I feel is a terrific resource for our members." said Steve Jones, ACC executive director. "The Communications Handbook has been under development for about one year, part of that process was extensive editing by experts in each to the 10 topical areas covered by each chapter."
The 10 chapters cover the following topics: Effective Communications, Who is Responsible for PR, Effective Internal Communications, Effective Community Relations, Community Outreach with Employee Volunteers, Influencing the Influencers, Persuasive Presentations, Media Relations, Strategic Communications, and Crisis Communications
The book is a product of ACC's Provide Professional Development Resources and Recognition Committee. It directly supports the organization's mission to develop and promote cable communications through professional development to help achieve industry and corporate goals.
